The advantages of metal bunk beds include ease of disassembly and assembly, high stability, effective use of vertical space, increased space capacity, and space-saving and low-cost advantages. Common dimensions are 200 cm long, 100 cm wide, and 160 cm high, with the lower bunk 45 cm off the ground and the upper bunk 150 cm high.
Metal bunk beds are widely used in various dormitory types, such as student dormitories, factory/company dormitories, and construction site dormitories. Approximately 50 million various types of double-decker metal bunk beds are used in schools, businesses, construction sites, and other similar locations in China.
The choice of materials is crucial for bunk beds, as different materials have different characteristics: round steel pipes offer an aesthetically pleasing appearance but have higher processing costs; square steel pipes provide a more robust structure but have higher production costs and are less aesthetically pleasing; ordinary angle iron has very low production costs but is prone to deformation.
The main components of a bunk bed include uprights, beams, guardrails, the bed frame, and stairs. These are typically made of high-quality cold-rolled steel plates. For example, uprights are typically 55*55mm in size and 1.2mm thick; beams are typically 60*40mm in size and 1.2mm thick.
